which was founded in 2000, has continued to address this specialized need in the community by providing treatment to children and adolescents through highly trained staff and a specialized treatment protocol.
The Program...
has a comprehensive approach which focuses on all aspects of the youth’s development, including cognitive and educational aspects as well as social, familial and cultural impacts. With this approach, Insight is impacting positive change in the youth’s over-all behavior, not just sexual misconduct or abuse.
Insight Counseling partners with...
community agencies, schools and law enforcement to ensure that treated youth never return to a life of abusing others. Additionally, training is available to other organizations to help promote education and break the barrier of myths and misinformation with sexual offending juveniles.
The Sexual Offense and Abuse Rehabilitation Program (SOAR)
WHO THE PROGRAM IS FOR:
The SOAR Program serves Manatee County residents between the ages of 6-17 and Sarasota County residents between the ages of 13-17 who have engaged in sexual misconduct or sexually abusive behaviors.
The program also addresses any sexual victimization of the sexually abusive youth. Services include individual, family and group counseling.
Group Sessions are provided:
Manatee County: Monday & Wednesday
Sarasota County: Tuesday & Thursday
Individual and Family sessions are scheduled based on need. Parent groups are provided monthly.

WHAT IS TREATMENT BASED ON?
Treatment is based on cognitive behavioral therapy with a strong emphasis in social skills, anger regression techniques and empathy enhancement.
Since the program is criterion-based with additional emphasis on individualized needs, the length of treatment varies for every youth.
The SOAR Program partners with other community resources to provide effective treatment while ensuring community safety.

Our long term goal is to increase community safety and strengthen families by treating abusive juvenile behavior and changing the lives of troubled youth.
Our goal is to reduce sexual crimes and prevent sexual abuse by rehabilitating sexually abusive youth, while reducing general delinquency of juveniles.

OUR SUCCESS RATE:
The program is entering its 23rd year in the community and has an outstanding success rate since our inception.
In the last five year outcomes measurement, we had a 0% recidivism rate with our successful completers. In other words, 100% of our successful youth have not re-offended in the 5 years post completion of the program.
Additionally, 100% of our successful completers in that same five year period did not receive any new delinquency charges.
